I believe Denny Edwards, "The Flying Irishman" jumped at the Waukon Speedway around 1976 or so. Does anyone remember the exact date? I think back then they were marketing Denny as the "Irish Evel Knievel". If I recall correctly he jumped about 3 or 4 cars then ended his show by jumping through a ring of fire. I don't think he used a landing ramp during that show.
Denny Edwards known as "The Flying Irishman" was born in 1945 in Oregon. He started jumping motorcycles professionally in 1972 and retired in 1985. His retirement only lasted 32 years.
He came out of retirement for one day only on August 12, 2017. The video below shows Denny at the age of 72 years successfully jumping his 1966 Triumph over two vintage semi-trucks end to end. This made him the oldest man to date to jump a motorcycle ramp-to-ramp. The jump took place August 12 at 2PM at the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum in McMinnvile, Oregon.
